How qualified is Dr. Jelic?
Dr. Jelic refined his training in facial surgery with two surgical fellowships. His first fellowship at the Center for Corrective Jaw Surgery at Santa Barbara emphasized orthognathic surgery and skeletal reconstruction of the face. His second year at the Institute for Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah was an intensive focus on soft tissue and facial cosmetic surgery.
Before moving into private practice, Dr. Jelic was the Director of Aesthetic Surgery for the UNC Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
How long is the recuperative period? When can I return to work?
The recuperative period will depend upon the specific procedure performed. Some procedures allow you to return to work immediately, while others may require a bit longer before you return to normal daily activities. Discuss any questions or concerns with Dr.Jelic prior to your surgery.
Where is the surgery performed?
Surgery is performed in our office, conveniently located in Durham, NC, off I-40 near the South Pointe Mall. Our state of the art office provides a safe and comfortable environment for your surgery needs.
Do I need someone to drive me home after surgery, or can I drive?
Depending on the procedure and type of anesthesia you undergo, you may need to have a person available to drive you home after your surgery.
Do you except my type of Insurance?
We are an out-of network provider, but as a courtesy to our patients, we will file with their insurance companies.
What does out-of-network mean and how does that affect me?
Some insurance companies have a list of in-network providers they prefer you to use in order to receiver your maximum coverage. This does not apply to all insurance companies and sometimes the difference in coverage is very minimal, so you may want verify this information with your insurance company prior to making an appointment with our office.
Do I have to have a consultation appointment prior to my surgery and how much does it cost?
Yes, every patient has to have a consultation with Dr. Jelic prior to their surgery. The consultation will determine the treatment plan for the patient and how much the procedure will cost. Once the patient has had a consultation they’re free to schedule their surgery within a year. The fee for a consultation is $85.00.
