Meet Dr. Jeffrey Jelic
Dr. Jelic is a board certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon with a Doctorate of Medicine from the Medical College of Virginia in addition to his degree in Dentistry from the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine. As both an oral surgeon and a physician, Dr. Jelic’s unique credentials give him special insight into the functional and aesthetic needs of his patients.
Having completed seven years of combined residencies in Hospital Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and General Surgery, Dr. Jelic has achieved a remarkable understanding of the functional demands of teeth, facial bones and upper airway.
Dr. Jelic further refined his training in facial surgery with two additional surgical fellowships. His first at the Center for Corrective Jaw Surgery at Santa Barbara emphasized orthognathic surgery and skeletal reconstruction of the face, and his second year at the Institute for Facial and Cosmetic Surgery in Salt Lake City, Utah was an intensive focus on facial cosmetic surgery.
Before moving into private practice, Dr. Jelic was an Associate Professor and Director of Aesthetic Surgery for the UNC Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He also spent eight years caring for our nation’s military veterans and teaching residents, as Staff Surgeon at the Durham VA Hospital.
Dr. Jelic’s training and experience make him exceptional in managing occlusal reconstruction and conditions that require an expertise in traditional oral surgery. He is the ideal maxillofacial surgeon for patients that require the modern techniques of corrective jaw surgery, facial cosmetic procedures or soft tissue rejuvenation.
